Here's all that you need to know about the Trade In Program at Switch.

Get rid of your used devices the smart and sustainable way with trade in. The trade in program lets you exchange your smartphone, iPad, and Apple Watch for instant store credit. Here's everything you need to know about trade in.

 

How does it work?

You may trade in your smartphone, iPad, and Apple Watch for instant store credit. To check your device's value, download our evaluation app by scanning the QR code. The app will evaluate your device and give you a trade-in estimate. If you accept the trade-in estimate, we’ll give you instant credit toward a purchase of an iPhone, any other Apple device, or premium accessory in the store. For Apple Watch, you can come instores and help you check your Watch's trade in value.

 

What is instant store credit?

Instant store credit is as good as cash. You can use it to purchase any Apple device and/or premium accessories instore. Instant store credit cannot be exchanged for cash and must be used immediately after a trade in.

 

How do I trade-in?

For smartphones and iPad

Step 1: Scan QR code to download our trade-in app

Step 2: Input the store code on the app by scanning the QR code of your preferred store for trade-in or typing in the number code. Click here for the list of store codes.

Step 3: Review list of what to prepare before running diagnostics

Step 4: Go through in-app assessment

Step 5: Get trade-in value

Step 6: Back up your smartphone and iPad

Step 7: Visit Switch to trade-in. Bring 1 valid government-issued ID.

 

Skipping steps may result in a lower trade-in value due to incorrect diagnosis. 

For Apple Watch

Step 1: Visit us instore

Step 2: Have your Apple Watch go through assessment to determine its trade in value.

Step 3: If you'd like to proceed with the trade in, unpair your Watch with your iPhone.

Please don't forget to bring 1 valid government-issued ID.

 

What do I need to prepare before running diagnostics?

Now that you have downloaded our trade-in app, follow these steps to make sure that you get the best trade-in value. Skipping steps may result in a lower trade in value due to incorrect diagnosis. 

 

1. Back up your device. Switch will not be liable for any loss of data

2. Update your phone to the latest iOS or Android OS

3. Enable your Wi-Fi or internet connection & Bluetooth

4. Insert an active sim card (only if applicable)

5. Set up your fingerprint or Face ID (only if applicable)

6. Enable NFC (only if applicable)

7. Turn on screen rotation (for iPad and smartphone

8. Switch off silent mode & set volume to be more than 50%

9. Ensure that device region code is not LL (only if applicable)

Can I check my Apple Watch's trade in estimate through the app?

Sorry, you can't as of now. We can only check your watch's trade in value through manual transaction instores.

What do I do if I accidentally skipped some part of the diagnostic test?

Don't worry, you may repeat the evaluation process if you missed some steps. Make sure that you read through the guidelines that we provided on what you need to prepare before trading in to ensure that you get the best trade-in value. Skipping diagnostic steps may result in inaccurate trade-in value.

 

What do I do if my smartphone, iPad, or Apple Watch does not appear on the list of choices for trade-in?

Hang in there! We are continuously adding on the list of devices available for trade in.

What devices are eligible for trade in?

We take in smartphones and iPad in any condition, both working & non-working. We also accept working Apple Watch units. To check if your device is eligible for the trade in, see the full list of accepted models here.

 

Can I trade in more than one smartphone, iPad, and/or Apple Watch?

Yes, we accept as many smartphones, iPad, Apple Watch units as you want to trade-in as long as it is on our list of devices available for trade-in. Get the trade-in estimate of all your devices and bring it in-store along with 1 valid government-issued ID. Our Apple Experts will gladly assist you in summing up the total value of your devices for trade in.

 

How do I access my IMEI?

To find out your IMEI number dial *#06# on the keypad and tap the call button. Your IMEI number should appear shortly. For iPad Wi-Fi + cellular model, you'll find the IMEI on the back of the device.

For Apple Watch, you'll need the serial number. Here's how to get it:

On Watch > Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number

On Phone > Apple Watch App > My Watch tab > General > About > Serial Number

 

What do I need to bring to the store for the trade in?

Bring the following items to be eligible for the trade in:

1. One (1) valid government-issued ID. You will need to upload your proof of identity that shows: full name, address, photo, and date of birth. Acceptable forms of ID include the following: valid passport, driving license, Unified Multipurpose ID, PRC ID.

2. Smartphone, iPad and/or Apple Watch for trade in 

3. Accessories of your smartphone, iPad and/or Apple Watch, if applicable.

How long does the trade in process take?

It will only take you around 5 minutes or less.

Can I cancel my trade in?

Yes, as long as the transaction is not yet finalized. A transaction is finalized once the receipt is produced. After this stage, you may no longer refund your trade in device.

Will you accept my phone if I cannot deactivate 'Find my iPhone'?

Yes. But the value will be deducted as a locked device.

 

Will you accept my smartphone and iPad if it’s “dead” (cannot turn on)?

Yes.

How are the trade in prices determined?

Trade in prices are determined using an app-based diagnostic that determines the condition of each phone. The value of each phone is appraised using an app-based standard diagnostic interface.

 

What are the payment terms?

You may pay the remaining balance in either of the following methods:

1. Cash

2. Straight

3. Debit

4. Installment

5. GCash / Alipay in select stores.

6. Home Credit in select stores.
